EMDR stands for Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing. It was developed by Dr. Francine Shapiro in 1987 as a treatment for trauma, and since then has been well-researched and used effectively for a wide range of mental health concerns.
In a nutshell, EMDR helps your brain process memories and reduce the emotional impact they have in the present moment.

I am an in-network provider with Aetna, Regence Blue Cross Blue Shield, and Moda Health, and offer a limited number of sessions for clients who wish to bill insurance. Insurance only covers 60-minute sessions.
For all other insurance companies, I am currently out-of-network, but I can provide a superbill upon request for reimbursement, which can also be used for 90-minute appointments.

This is a common question, but there is no universal answer! The number of sessions needed varies depending on your goals and the issues you’re addressing. Some clients notice meaningful progress in a few sessions, while others benefit from ongoing work. We’ll collaborate to set goals and adjust as needed.
Note: For EMDR intensives, these are short-term treatment options typically completed over 1-2 consecutive days.
